The Different Parts Of Our Brain

Here is a poster I made about the different parts of our brain and what they help us do. My classroom has been working on growth mindset and what it is. Growth mindset is when you are deter mend to face new challenges and even if you fail you keep trying. Its also a person with a growth mindset thinks about the positive side of things instead of the negatives.

My Inference Poster

In my classroom we have been learning what inferencing is and how you can inference as part of our reading. I have learn't how to inference and what it actually is. I used a site called eaesl.ly to make this poster.

Sculpture

For the past few weeks my classroom has been working on building sculptures using different materials to make a use out of them as part of our science. A sculpture is a three dimensional art using different types of materials in many different shapes and sizes to create a sculpture. First off we started to draw our ideas on a bit of paper to combine all of our ideas to make one sculpture. After that we had identified what we wanted to use such as colors, lighting, materials etc. We had to use are creativity skills to come up with a sculpture, I had came up with a creepy doll. I had used a cardboard box for the body, for the head I screwed up a few pieces of newspaper and taped it all together until it became a circle shape and covered it in this bandage type of material. Then for the arms I used the same material as I did with my head and sewed it all together to make these little fingers. Then I added another idea and made a little door which can open and you can store anything that you want. For the face I used buttons for the eyes, and then for the mouth I cut a bit of beaded jewelry and made a smile shape, and then for the hair I just used a wig and trimmed it until it was the right length. Then I just glued a knitted flower on her head and stuck some little jewels on her body. I have learn't that you can make a use and turn something boring like a piece of junk to something fascinating and interesting.

Bullying

I hang my head as I walk by

I hear the names, I wanna cry

I just wish you would let me be

The pain you cause, you can not see

I talk to mum, I talk to dad

About the reasons why i’m sad

They can never understand it fully

The pain inside from being bullied

I won't give up, without a fight

I know what's wrong, and I know what's right

I don't want to ask you twice

Why don't you just please be nice

If you're causing too much drama

Life will get you with its karma

One day when your old and gray

You’ll look back upon that day

You called me names and made me blue

Made me cry so shame on you

My class has been writing slam poems for the last couple of days. We chose something that makes us feel emotionally strongly and personal to us that comes from our heart, and I chose bullying. Some of us had presented and it was hard for alot of us (including me).

Longitude and Latitude

We have been learning about what longitude and latitude mean, and finding out the longitude and latitude of different places in Zealand using google earth.

My Inquiry Project (Syrian Civil War)

Recently I have been working on my inquiry project and we go to choose how to present it and I made a site, for the past few weeks I have finally finished it. We were able to choose any war we wanted to study about I chose the Syrian Civil War. Why I chose the Syrian war is because I wanted to know what children are like living there and all the different types of chemicals. I had also been hearing on the news about it sometimes and I really wanted to research more about. I have learn't that the conflict in Syria has done alot of damage.
